Ananya (Ani) Gangopadhyaya, MD

Ananya (Ani) Gangopadhyaya is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, in the Division of Academic Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine - Chicago (UIC).  Dr. Gangopadhyaya completed both her undergraduate and medical school training at UIC and did her residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago (U of C).  She subsequently was selected and served as Chief Resident at MacNeal Hospital.  She joined the Division of Academic Internal Medicine at UIC in 2011, and completed the Scholars for Teaching Excellence Faculty Fellowship in 2012.  

Dr. Gangopadhyaya is an internist who works in both the outpatient clinics and inpatient wards at UI Health, seeing patients privately and also supervising student doctors.  She is a co-course director for the Doctoring & Clinical Skills longitudinal course and for the Phase 1 cardiology and respiratory educational block, and an Assistant clerkship director for the M4 subinternship in internal medicine.  

When not on campus, she can often be found under a pile of dinosaurs and construction vehicles with her two boys, trying to not place last in a local run, or asking her awesome husband to take care of the dishes.
